Professor Malcolm Harrington has written in glowing terms, in his interim report on implementation of his year one recommendations , of the progress made by the DWP in making the work capability assessment fairer and more responsive.

The report, however, does not detail any consultation with claimants, admits that charities have not reported any improvements and entirely ignores the effects of the new, harsher work capability assessment.
