PIP, DLA, ESA and UC appeals success rates all fall

The success rate for appeals has fallen across all the major benefits, the latest quarterly figures released by HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) reveal.

The figures relate to the period October to December 2021.

The PIP success rate was 68%, down 6% on a year ago.

The DLA success rate was 65%, down 1% on a year ago.

The ESA success rate was 60%, down 9% on a year ago.

The UC success rate was 46%, down 11% on a year ago.

Overall, the number of appeals being lodged increased by 12% compared to last year, driven mainly by an increase of 103% in the number of UC appeals.

The average length of time it takes for an appeal to be decided stood at 25 weeks, a decrease of 5 weeks from a year ago.

There were 38,000 cases waiting to be heard, a decrease of 32% on a year ago.

Transfer from Higher Rate DLA to PIP cost me £262 a month. I went to tribunal, but my appeal was denied. I'm in chronic ill health & have become housebound. Can't walk distance to any local bus & the cut means I can't afford the occasional taxi. I've developed severe anxiety & have become agoraphobic. DWP refuse to upgrade my PIP on grounds that I've not been assessed by a psychiatrist & I'm not taking anti-anxiety meds or antidepressants. Neither would help as long as my income keeps me housebound. I feel hopeles discarded for being elderly & disabled.

Missed this one is there any one who can take a look at a document from DWP assessment.i have sever double vision.problem is the date date if the assessmt 2016 17. Just need some guidance and advice..thank you for sparing ur time..thank you

Is UK PIP being replaced .I'm aware regarding to Scotland..has already been activated..but are UK getting the same new system.thank you

The DWP is a government organisation. HMCTS is a government organisation. They are all Civil Servants. They often play dirty. Call me cynical and paranoid but are they all in it together? The government could easily send some kind of message to HMCTS to say less appeals must be overturned🤷

My husband lost his appeal and was treated applingly.he was put on a curfew for fraud and made to wear a tag.after they followed and videoed him after a neighbour said he was falsley claiming DLA.which was not true.like everyone he had good and bad days.even our Dr wrote to the appeal on our behalf and said he should not be taken of DLA.he had been receiving it for 13 years and had never had any probkem before.he has multiple illnesses and takes 24 tablets a day. how can he put that on. including heart probs and diabetes.depression.prostate probs.he now has to pay back the DLA £9000 .00 which I think is a joke.im so pleased we are on state pensions now.not on benifits.but they are taking £120 a month from his pension which is hard to afford to pay back DLA that I think he should not have to pay back as he did not take it fraudulently.as he was entitled to it.
