Christina says:

“SICK is a verbatim play so it will use people's actual words. That's why I'm looking for people to interview. I am not trying to impose any pre-conceived angle or agenda but simply to listen to what the person wants to say, what was important for them. It is the sheer human reality that will make SICK effective.

“My story line for SICK is simply: this is what it's like to claim ESA. To take those experiences and present them to audiences who will mostly know nothing about the benefits system except what they get from the media. I may also include some other experiences around ESA, such as doctors' or benefits advisers' views, but SICK will be mainly the words of people who've claimed ESA.

“As a benefits adviser, I'm very conscious of confidentiality, and everyone taking part in the project will be completely anonymous. No details that could identify someone would be used.”
