Tyneside Mind has produced a short video, now available on You Tube, which depicts the experiences of 3 Employment and Support Allowance claimants who are going through the WCA.

Many will recognise the attitude and approach by the healthcare professional conducting the assessment: keeping doggedly to the “script”, carrying out a physical assessment unnecessarily, recording the facts without context, failing to explore or report on the psychological impact and distress the assessment is having, and failing to make it clear to the claimant what the purpose of the question is.{jcomments on}
