Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I am unable to leave the house, except when driven by a family member to my medical appointments. I do not cook and my husband does this for me, even making my sandwiches and breakfast. I shower using a stool and have various stools around the house because I can't stand up without feeling ill. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would loose the daily living element of PIP and I'm concerned I many loose ESA as I am on contribution based ESA and there is talk of moving this to JSA and I am unable to work, and the DWP has agreed as much, which is why I am in the support group. That means I would loose the vast majority of my income and I would struggle to buy the things that help with my condition, and would struggle to pay our basic household bills. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: It would make me a lot sicker, even attending doctors appointments means I have to spend days recovering. This is thr same for mental exertion. If I over do it mentally I also have to recover for several days but it also becomes really hard to think straight and I wouldn't be able to complete any work. |
Anything else to tell us: I do think I should be awarded 4 points on PIP in some categories, but I wasn't. I wasn't scored enough points for any award at first and had to appeal this. By the time they gave me the lower rate award at mandatory reconsideration I accepted it because the whole process and stress was making me ill and I didn't have the energy to fight it further. It is incredibly difficult to get PIP even when you are incredibly ill, and I dont think MPs seem to realise this at all. |
