Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: FND impacts my balance and makes me fatigued. Walking is very difficult without a stick and even with a stick I can struggle. This makes leaving the house challenging on some days, especially when coupled with my anxiety and fear of falling in public. The fatigue often induced by FND can reduce my cognitive function to the point where I sometimes forget what I am doing, even as I am doing it. This can impact making meals. I frequently forget that I have turned the oven on, or I forget to turn it off when I am finished. I have boiled the kettle dry on numerous occasions. I leave food in the oven to burn sometimes, as I forget that I have put it in there. Focus on a single task can be difficult. I currently am able to pick up some freelance work in a remote capacity, but my inability to focus for too long restricts my daily working hours to 3 or 4 at most, limiting my earning capability. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: £290.60 per month currently. This would make it difficult to travel on days when I am unable to drive due to my condition, making getting to my part-time job impossible. It would reduce my ability to buy microwave ready-meals, make it harder for me to pay my energy bills when I need to run a computer and heat my home to support remote working. It just makes the difference between independence and despair. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I already work part time. |
