ESA renewal or pension credit was created by katherine
I did my ESA renewal form last week and it has been stressful as I suffer from chronic long term conditions. I was receiving incapacity benefit since 1997, then was put in ESA support group contribution based in 2011. My question is would I just as well get pension credit with my husband.he is retired and gets state pension and small private pension which are below the amount the DWP say a couple should live on, we would qualify for pension credit and then get full help with rent and council tax. have to pay it all now as I receive ESA. If we got pension credit I would not have the worry of ESA renewal and just wondering if what other peoples thoughts are. I would only be a few pounds worse off a month on pension credit. Also can my husband applyfor it for me where the ESA can be canceled automatically when recieved

I am afraid that we cannot provide advice at this level of detail, we would need to have a full understanding of your income in order to help you, which cannot be done on the forum.
I would get face to face advice from a trained advisor, they can calculate what you would receive on each of the options and explain the pros and cons so that you can make an informed Decision.
Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with you postcode, town or county.
