Don't worry Saz, every post here is read and pre-moderated here before it is made public. How long it takes depends on how many (voluntary) mod's are on line and how busy we are. Your post will appear in time 
It sounds as if you have had very good advice from Rethink. You can, indeed, put in a new claim straight away as long as you can satisfy either the NI contributions or financial income-related criteria.
