DLA reconsideration was created by Clair
Hi everyone, my names Clair I'm 25 and I have had CFS for the last 2 years :(
Anyway I recently filled in a renewal for DLA as I had previously been awarded higher rate mobility and middle rate care, however there now saying I'm entitled to nothing :(
I've asked for a reconsideration and wrote down wat I disagree with, I also received my GPs report today which was rubbish as I haven't dealt with her in 5 months as I am now at specialists.
They've requested a report from my consultant who has now retired so I've requested a medical as I don't feel the report will be fair, I'm looking for any advice from people as to what to do?
I'm very worried as my award runs out in 2 weeks n my partners my carer and we also have a 5 year old son, any feedback would be appreciated :)

Would you be able to get a letter from your specialist or are they the retired consultant you are referring to? Any letter would need to confirm your mobility issues and care needs.

I have my consultant but he's now retired :( I also have a psychologist and physiotherapist? I requested a medical as I had one last time and the doctor fully supported my claim do you think it's right to request another one? X

You need supportive evidence from any medical professional. A physiotherapist is a medical professional and I would imagine at the very least they would be able to confirm your mobility issues. I am not sure if a psychologist is a medical professional but would imagine a letter from them would be taken into consideration if it confirmed your care needs.

As for having a medical it is a bit 50/50. If you get a supportive doctor then you are likely to get your award back. But if you get one of those nasty doctors who are determined to stop you from claiming it will not help. However this is only the first stage you can still appeal after. Just because the DWP does not accept your entitlement doesn't mean the tribunal won't.

Ok I could ask my Physio if she could provide a report, my consultant was aware that I can't cook, walk far, dress myself, bath etc so would that be good evidence? Last time I applied I had an excellent report from my GP and they said I was fit so I'm wary of reports :/
I'm also on a pain management course and I was assessed as being depressed, anxiety and also my pain was much greater than the average chronic pain patient so would that info help as we'll? That was with my psychologist and again she's aware of my care and mobility needs?
If I request a medical will I get one?
Stress and my condition go hand in hand so this is having a serious affect on my health :(
Sorry for all the questions x

SAR every HCP that has been treating you, retreive your information and sift through every part of it.
When you are appealing or what ever you are deciding to do point the DWP/ATOS to your evidence dont let them look for it and concentrate on your limitations and restrictions rather than the condition itself
