NI credits was created by alwill09
Having been on IC for many years and just been refused ESA in the migration process I have decided to appeal. Looking ahead to the worste case scenario, if my appeal is unsuccessul, will the NI credits I received whilst on benefit entitle me to jobseekers allowance (contribution based).
In the meanwhile, can you tell if the sick note I need to get from my doctor to cover me during the appeal process is the same as the 'fit note' and/or the Med 4 form.
Thanks.

If you were on Incapacity Benefit before being transferred to ESA then you will have received NI Credits, these count towards a full State Pension but only in part towards a reclaim of a Contribution Based Benefit, which also requires NI Contributions, so I am afraid I would not expect you to qualify for JSA(CB).
Yes. a Fit Note is the new name for a sick note and is also known as a Med-3 form.
