PIP: “go to the toilet” was created by MariW
I’m looking at Question 7b on a PIP form. Do the words “go to the toilet” mean?

a) Reaching the lavatory from another room or within the washroom and sitting on it safely
OR
b) Requiring help when actually using the loo
OR
c) Both the above and maybe more

This is all about the physical act of going to the toilet and any assistance you need to do so, so if you need assistance to get to the toilet, help getting on or off of it, or someone else to help you clean yourself, then you should tick yes and give details in the information box or attached sheets.

Hi MW,

Obviously whether you can use the toilet aided or unaided is taken into account also :

See 5. :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-indep...ip/pip-points-system

As Gordon says, all the actions involved in going to the toilet should be considered.

It may be helpful to break down each necessary action in getting to and using the toilet, day and night, and where and how you need help.
