I would phone and ask whether an ESA50 was issued as it is possible it got lost in the post. Normally an unreturned ESA50 would result in a claim being ended but it is possible this did not happen as you have mental health issues. It maybe to your benefit to fill in an ESA50 especially bearing in mind the assessors are unlikely to be trained in mental health, may not record what you say accurately and as you say it is difficult to explain in such a short space of time. Alternatively if you do not wish to go through the process of filling in another form, or they will not send you one, you could write a letter explaining why you think you should be in the SG making reference to specific SG descriptors which are outlined in the guides. Any recent medical evidence may help as well.
