Is ESA- taxable benefit if only getting NI credit was created by panther50
Hi Just wondered if you might know if ESA -CB is still counted as a taxable benefit after 365 days have passed and you are only in receipt of NI credits, as far as the tax office is concerned? (hope that makes sense!)
Am trying to complete one of the HMRC forms and am not sure if this statement applies-
" since last 6 April they have had Employment and Support Allowance or taxable Incapacity Benefit."
Since 6th April I am on ESA but have not received any benefit (365 days ended last August) only NI credits

At the risk of confusing you
yes and no!
ESA(CB) is liable to tax, but it is the amount of ESA(CB) that you are receiving that they are really interested in, so, as you are no longer receiving any payments you should tell HMRC this.
