Should I send to Atos? was created by bottleofbest
Hey everyone :)

As you guys know, I have put together a pack consisting of many things, such as my diagnosis from my specialist., a letter from my doctor detailing previous medical history, ambulance report and witness statements to support my claim.

My question is; I have sent them off to both relevant dwp depts but should I also send one to atos prior to my appointment? My píp assessor wouldn't take the pack off me which seems strange as most assessors seem happy to, to help write their report.

I have enclosed a letter explaining my conditions and how they meet certain descriptors and also quoted regulations 29 & 35 (I think that was the ones?)

If possible, what's the address to send them to please?

I would send a copy to ATOS but also take one on the day and ask the assessor to read it and include it in your file before proceeding, they are obliged to do this under section 3.1.2 of the WCA Handbook.

You are a legend Gordon.

I was planning on doing both but wasn't sure if they would accept it after Pip assessor didn't. I am hoping she felt she didn't need the extra evidence as she had already read it and thought she had seen enough evidence to make her decision.

Thanks again mate!

I had a quick look in the PIP Guidance to Assessors, the following seems to cover your problems with the extra evidence on your PIP claim

2.3.11. If a claimant brings further evidence to a face-to-face consultation, the HP should take a copy of it and take it into account when completing their assessment report. A copy of the evidence should also be sent to the Case Manager with the completed report.

from the PIP Assessment Guide

I appreciate yours was a Home visit, but can't see why this would have prevented the assessor taking the documents.
