d l a help ...... was created by julie a raven
I fought like a tiger to get dla went to hell and back all the stress took 6 months went to the tribunal on my own as the citizens advice told me they were inundated with calls for help and relied on volunteers so could not help me as i am a live in carer for a friend with a terminal lung disorder it not always easy to run around looking for help. I was granted it for my care on the lowest level
that was 7 months ago my mobility has got worse. so rang and told them. Filled in the form I done this under immense stress, as my friend was in hospital my mum is unwell as well as the daily struggle I go through I also applied for a blue badge at the same time ( which I got.)
got the phone call to say I was not entitled to any more help stressed out struggling and so tired of fighting, I think I filled the form out not really knowing how to answer the questions have received the formal letter today and I can appeal I just need some help I dont think I have enough fight left in me to go through another 6 months of atos hell as well as an operation :(

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

If you did not complete the form in detail about your on-going Care needs when you asked for a Mobility award, then it is likely when they looked at your form they decided that you no longer qualified for a Care award.

I am afraid your options are extremely limited, all you can do is appeal the Decision, the first stage to this is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, see our DLA MR and Appeal Guide for an explanation of the process.

I would also recommend that you have a look at DLA Claim guides, top of the page on the above link.

There is an opportunity for you to submit additional evidence or clarification of your DLA form as part of the MR process, revision rates have improved significantly so it is well worth your doing this.

You can make a new claim for PIP, some claimants have found the new benefit easier to be awarded than DLA because of the nature of their problems, but you need to be aware that applying for PIP will supersede any Tribunal Decision in the long term, so if you won your appeal but failed to be awarded PIP, then the DLA would only be paid for a further four weeks after any PIP Decision.

It may help you if you can get face to face advice from a trained advisor, they will be able to calculate your potential payments before you proceed, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town, or county.

If we can help you further then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help you.
