PIP points? was created by ian
Hi,

Newbie to the forum.

Just got a quick question regarding PIP points needed!

Feeling rather confused :(

Is the overall score for PIP, 12 (8 points for standard rate) ,points on both components, Daily activities and Mobility?

Or is it that you need to reach 12 points for each daily activity ?

ie. 12 points for each activity?

Preparing food
Taking nutrition
Managing therapy or monitoring a health condition
Washing and bathing
Managing toilet needs or incontinence
Dressing and undressing
Communicating verbally
Reading and understanding signs, symbols and words
Engaging with other people face to face
Making budgeting decisions

And 12 points on each of the mobility components?

ie planning and following journeys
moving around.

Or is it 12 points overall on the Daily Activities and 12 overall on the mobility activities?

Many thanks!

You need to score a total of 8 points for the Standard Rate or 12 points for the Enhanced across all of the Daily Living questions (1-12) and 8 or 12 points across the Going Out and Moving Around Questions (13 & 14). You can only score one once for each question (the highest value).

I hope this explains it.
