DLA success was created by debbiecam
Hi, I'm not sure how to work the site but my dla renewal is up on the 3rd October 2014 and I've been reading a lot of stuff on here. I have ATM got low rate mobility and middle rate care on dla and since this was first awarded 3yrs ago if have got a lot worse since. I have got fibromyalgia, plantar fisitas in my feet, depression, social anxiety, panic attacks. I really am not sure about how to put my answers in to the form in the way so I would be entitled to hrm and hrc as this is what I need to support my needs. Could you please help in any way. Thank you.

I have moved your post to it's own topic so that we avoid confusion.
To be awarded Higher Rate Mobility you will need to show that you are unable to walk or more likely that you are virtually unable to walk, you will need to show that at least one of the following applies (these are not legal definitions);
- You cannot walk 50m or more without severe discomfort
- Your manner of walking is such that you may stumble and fall
- Your speed of walking is significantly slower than an able person
- The time it takes you to walk a given distance is significantly longer than an able person
You may also qualify if the effects of your walking are so severe (for example severe tiredness) that you are again considered virtually unable to walk.
To receive Higher Rate Care you need to show that you have substantial care requirements both day and night, you will not receive HRC because your care needs for the MRC award have increased.
Your best starting point is to have a look at our DLA Claim guides. See
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/dla/#dlaclaims
It is really essential that your DLA form is returned to the DWP by 3 October, if it is late for any reason then most likely result will be that your claim will be closed and you will have to claim PIP.
If you have any questions once you have read the guide then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
