Been overpaid! was created by Fleur
Hi all,
I just checked my bank account and discovered PIP have paid me almost £2000. This is obviously a mistake on their part and I am now very worried. I was previously in receipt of DLA and then received a letter telling me to phone and start a claim for PIP as my DLA was due to expire.. I then received the forms which I returned I think at the beginning of March.
I do not understand how they can make a mistake like this as they know I was in receipt of DLA. I haven't done anything wrong but I'm still feeling uneasy.
How do I explain this?
Thanks

If they have made a mistake you will have to call them I should think. If they haven't... then Happy Christmas! Hope it's the latter for you.

Hi A,
If you were a DLA receipient who was invited to claim PIP, payments of DLA would continue until 4 weeks after the date of the PIP decision.
Further, I note from your comment from your other other post : " regarding my mobility and awarded me 10 point for difficulty in walking"
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=top...&limitstart=0#124962
If you were awarded 10 points for the Mobility (Walking) Component of PIP that gives you The Standard Award, which is currently £21.55/Week :
Benefit Rates 2014
If you still think that you may have been overpaid, you should contact PIP :
PIP helpline :
Telephone: 0345 850 3322
Textphone: 0345 601 6677
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
You should not spend any amount of the PIP monies that you consider to be an overpayment until you have some clarity on the issue.
To cover yourself, if you are still unsure, you could put your concerns in writing to the DWP PIP office address.
Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

Just to add to Bro's advice.
Looking back over your posts there were some issues regarding your having received the PIP2 form and as a consequence your returning the form (second copy) within the required timescales.
Have you been receiving DLA payments while you waited for a Decision on your PIP claim?
