ESA - supporting evidence and when to submit it

Hi all,

I'm currently on ESA and still in the assessment phase. I submitted some evidence with the ESA50; however, in the months since then, my condition has changed and deteriorated to some extent, and I am now seeing different specialists.

I am wondering, would it be wise to submit additional evidence to the DWP so as to update them as regards my condition? Can evidence be submitted at any time? Might this serve to bring forward my medical somehow?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

You are entitled to provide additional information up to and including the day of any face to face assessment, if you do not tell about the changes then they can't take them into account.

Providing additional information may prompt ATOS to assess your early but our impression is that assessments are being done in date order unless the DWP prioritise a claimant.

Send your updated information to ATOS, the Customer Helpline should be able to give you an address.

Contact ATOS

Phone: 0800 2888 777 or 0113 230 9175

Take a copy to the assessment and ask the assessor to read it before they proceed with the interview.

We also recommend sending a copy to the DWP office dealing with your claim, marked for the attention of the Decision Maker.

Remember, any information needs to be related to the ESA Descriptors wherever possible.
