PIP No points for Cooking Test was created by poppycat52
PIP claim unsuccessful because no points awarded for cooking test only for use of aids and adaptions (including hand splints). Decision maker's reasoning is 'if you can drive a car you can cook'? Arthritis rheumatoid in hands, neck, spine , legs and feet. Swelling and pain and joint stiffness make chopping, peeling difficult and very painfull and lifting pans etc impossible and dangerous. Any comments please about this decision would be helpful. Claim is being reconsidered at present

Hi San,

I am sorry you are going through this. It does make you wonder what planet the Decision Makers are on sometimes, doesn't it?!

Did you use our PIP guides when filling in the form? It would be worth having a good look at the section that deals with preparing meals and see if it helps you to explain your difficulties in different words.
