PIP was created by Roger Van steeden
Hello I am on Dla and not due to receive my form for PIP until October 2015 but I am frightened by what I have heard on TV and on this forum as to will I be able to answer by the questionnaire how your disability affects you. I never go out as I can only walk a few metres before experiencing severe pain in my sub taler joint in my left ankle which is arthritic how will I go to the face to face meeting as I have no means of getting there and can I get help to answer some of the difficult questions from anyone.

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I've edited your post to change you signature in case you want to do this.

Many of our members are having difficulties with these things so you should not feel alone.

First of all the October 2015 is just the date that the transfer of DLA claimants with an indefinite award will start, transfers are being done at random so it could be several years after this that you will actually be moved over.

We have a detailed guide that explains how to complete the PIP forms in context to your disabilities and copies of the DWP guidance to assessors, you can have a look at these on the following link

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Both the current Assessment Providers, ATOS and Capita, have the facilities to assess claimants in their homes, we can explain how to arrange for this to happen closer to the time.

Finally, you can always ask questions here on the forum and we will do our best to help you.
