3. Managing therapy or monitoring a health condition.
What if you live alone and there is no one around to monitor your condition or manage your medication?
I have a mental health condition, but I don’t have a CPN or get any other form of outside help. However, if I don’t take my medication regularly, or at the correct dosage, this can cause my condition to deteriorate. Would I still be able to score a point for this descriptor?
Can I just confirm that you mean Question 5 Managing Treatments and not Question 3?
On the assumption that it is just a typo.
On the face of it would seem difficult for you to score points if you are not being supervised when you take your medication, however, the assessor must still apply the word "reliably" to this and the other activities you are being assessed against.
Reliably means that any activity must be performed
• Safely – in a fashion that is unlikely to cause harm to themselves or to another person. • To a necessary and appropriate standard – given the nature of the activity. • Repeatedly – as often as is reasonably required. • In a timely manner – in a reasonable time period.
So if you can show examples where you have failed to take your medication as required and how frequently this occurs then it may still be possible to score points.
