My husband is disabled (severe epilepsy) and receives PIP and ESA. I'm also disabled and receive DLA. We've been told that we should be claiming a council tax reduction because we are disabled, but when I looked on their website, it says you only get a reduction if there is one room dedicated to the use of the disabled person. Can anyone clarify this please?

I am afraid that you need to get local advice, the rules for Council Tax reduction are specific to each Local Council, so we cannot advise on this matter.

Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

My Council gave me a tax band reduction for my bathroom even though their website says that it isn't covered, (kitchens too). Don't be afraid to ask
