Hello, I'm looking for info on whether my friend can claim anything in the UK, and if so what.
My friend is originally from America, she has a 'settlement visa, with indefinite leave to remain', and she's married to a British partner & intends to stay here in the UK long term. Her only income is her partner who is on a fairly low wage.
Can she apply for anything like PIP or ESA, and is there anything else she can apply for?
She's really struggling to afford the things she needs to get well, like dietician-recommended specialist food.

I am afraid that we do not advise on entitlement to benefits for foreign nationals, I would recommend that your friend gets face to face advice, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with their postcode, town or county.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
