ESA mandatory reconsiderations, how long are they was created by Charles Britton
Anyone got any idea how long mandatory reconsiderations for ESA are taking these days? I presume that times vary.

Hi dc,
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Yes, it can take up to a fortnight from receipt of your MR request for the DWP to scan it onto their systems.
You should not expect to receive written confirmation of receipt of your MR request.
If you have proof of delivery, you could contact them for an update 2-3 weeks after receipt.
As Gordon states, the whole MR process can take up to around 15 weeks.
In case you haven't already done so, you might wish to read through our :
ESA MR/Appeals Guidance.
