The time can be quite variable but we would expect most claimants to hear in about 4-5 weeks, the extremes are as little as one week and as many as 13 or more at the other end.

We have seen a number of ESA claims use PIP assessment reports to help with the Decision, but they have not been frequent and the vast majority of ESA claims (where a PIP report has been available), have not made use of that report. It really depends on the nature of your problems and how closely they match the criteria for ESA, in some areas they are quite close and in others, there is no overlap at all.
