Hi there, Im new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could tell me how long I can expect to wait for a decision after having a home visit last Thursday? Also, has anyone had the medical for PIP claim used for an ESA claim as well? Im absolutely dreading the outcome and keep telling myself I wont get anything. Hopefully i'll be surprised? Thank you to anyone who responds
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it? The time can be quite variable but we would expect most claimants to hear in about 4-5 weeks, the extremes are as little as one week and as many as 13 or more at the other end.
We have seen a number of ESA claims use PIP assessment reports to help with the Decision, but they have not been frequent and the vast majority of ESA claims (where a PIP report has been available), have not made use of that report. It really depends on the nature of your problems and how closely they match the criteria for ESA, in some areas they are quite close and in others, there is no overlap at all.
