My husband phoned to query this and was told it was normal to get it a year early. I cant understand this either ..if I already have it awarded until 2016 but am re assessed within the 16 weeks and fail this time I assume i will lose the award straight away.
Hi tb581,
As Gordon has stated in his post above.
I am afraid that at this time, we cannot answer that question !

Do you think DWP would expect all the documentation I supplied for the 1st assessment or just the evidence I have since that assessment.
I would think there would now be a file with my name on with this evidence in it - or am I being naive here?
Would I need to send the old stuff back to them?

You are being assessed as you are now so wherever possible you need to provide up to date information, you can supply older information but you need to show that it is still relevant to your conditions as they are now. For example; if you have reports in regard to your ability to mobilise from your previous assessment and your conditions are ones that will not improve then they should be classed as still relevant.
For completeness, whilst the assessor and Decision Maker occasionally have access to a claimants previous records, this is rare and you cannot rely on it happening.

Silly me thinking they would have access to all the previous stuff.

I just want to re-emphasise my previous comment, you cannot rely on either assessor or the Decision Maker to access any of your previous records, even if they did, that information would not be detailed in your ESA50 and therefore any context would likely be lost.
