Successful PIP first tier tribunal - now what? was created by Sarah
Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone could please give me a bit of advice? A week ago I attended a first-tier tribunal for PIP and received a decision in the post from the tribunal saying I am entitled. I can't thank the people who put the information guides together enough, it really helped.
I'm just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on what happens now? I realise the DWP should have got a copy of the decision sent to them as well as me. Does it take ages for the DWP to send out payment, including back pay? I don't know how long I should wait before contacting them or if its even necessary. I've been waiting so long to get to this stage (first applied in 2013), so could really do with the money asap but not sure what to do.
Any advice from people would be hugely appreciated

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Well done on the win.
It normally takes the DWP 5-8 weeks to process a Tribunal result, you may be able to shorten the time by checking with the DWP that they have received the Decision Notice, if they have not then faxing a copy may help.
