Hi I am in week 38 of ESA assessment phase, finally a date for WCA has come for 16th April. As i said before , I scored zero for PIP. One comment on that was as I don't see "specialist" regularly , it is considered I "manage my condition".

I contact rheumy (via his secretary) about this , and I was told , he would respond to any correspondence from dwp, but as I see my GP regularly , a second referral was not ness. I was dx 2 yrs ago with widespread Fibromyalgia with chronic pain. He asked if i worked, I told him I had to leave my job, due to pain, but my OH was seriously ill. He said physically repeating activity like working each day , without prolonged periods of rest , would make the FM worse, as it happens , the FM has excelled even with rest.

Is it worth writing to rheumy and requesting he put his dx in writing so I can take it to the wca?

If you do not have a formal diagnosis then it may well help your claim if your Specialist can do this, it may also be worth you talking to your GP about it.

If you have received an invitation to a face to face I think it unlikely that Maximus will now write to your GP and/or specialist about your problems so it will be down to you to provide any information that you can.

thanks, I did write to specialist , he replied saying he will only confirm my dx and answer direct questions asked on a form.

I have asked maxius to write to specialist. they haven't. i provided a letter from him 2 years , confirming fibromyalgia , advice to rest and no stress and sleep medication. Although symptoms have escalated , the GP who was supporting me and signed me off, has left surgery.
My " named " GP is the senior partner of the practice, I can not for the life of me get that changed, seems they as others are locums or salaried , they dont hold lists.
The snr GP completed my esa report with 2 boxes ticked. thats it. I have not been to see him for 8 years and he knows why. He mis- diagnosed my husbands pain in chest as pulled muscle..and it turned out to be a blood in the heart. He nearly died.
So medical evidence seems to be thin on the ground, all round. I give up. Totally, The whole process is so stressful.

You can ask to review your medical records and take copies of anything that you think might be helpful to your claim. See

The rates are set by the NHS, the £10 fee should be included within the £50 if you request copies.
