ESA yet another delay was created by frances
Been waiting for my daughter ESA medical since October 2014 when she came off of IB. Finally got the date 30th March only to get a phonecall 1 hour before to say there would be at least a 2.5 hr delay and may not be seen or she would have to take a new date. No explanation other than the fact she had already told them about no child care available.
So I'd been up from 5.30 am to get the car (my husband goes to work early 6am) to get her friend to baby sit and get her to the medical. she still had to pay for the child minding and now she has to wait until 23 april. she already thinks the delay is to cause her more stress. she has already had her DLA approved at a higher rate without having any medical or appeal this time.So yet again this government is determined to punish those who are already suffering.
Llet alone the mess with PIP. I dread to think what will happen when I take retirement in June will they still expect me to claim PIP or will I autimatically go over? who knows because the government department can't tell me.

Hi,
Welcome to Benefits and Work
If your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity.
This can be done quite easily by following the instructions on this FAQ :
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I am afraid that this is not at all uncommon !
It may be due to the fact that : The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments.(CHDA) (Maximus) took over the ESA WCA Contract from ATOS on 02/03/15.
You may want to read through this FAQ, in anticipation of The ESA F2F :
ESA Medical – What to expect
Please keep us updated.

Hi,
I am sorry I missed your query from near the bottom of your post !
If you are a current DLA recipient and were under 65 on 8th April 2013, you will be invited to claim PIP, and will have to go through the reassessment process under PIP criteria.
Have a look at : This. which may help you understand how it works.
