I have query for the panel and though it seems speculative, it's not so intended!
As I understand it, at present, people entering WRAG ESA in future will only get it on a means-tested basis. Is this correct?
If so, is the current speculation re: leaks about Tory welfare cuts post election, related ( in terms of ESA) to making Support group ESA only available on a means basis? In other words, contribution based ESA support group would, under their plans perhaps, cease to exist.
I know it's the election campaign and all sorts of claims are flying around, but your understanding of this bit of news would be helpful.
There have been no changes to ESA, the ESA legislation, the Regulations or the Descriptors, there are no new restrictions in regard to being placed in the WRAG and the type of ESA a claimant receives
What you have heard are extracts from a leaked document that may or may not represent Conservative intentions for after the election. As such it is not a natter for discussion at the moment in the forum, I hope you will understand but there is no additional information to add, and any discussion would be pure speculation at this time.
I am locking the post to prevent further discussion.
