Hi p,
Maximus, otherwise known as : The Centre for Health and Disability Assessments.(CHDA) took over the ESA WCA Contract from ATOS on 02/03/15.
You can contact them or read more about them by left clicking on the blue link above.
It looks like your son's ESA WRAG Award is being reassessed.
The face to face assessment is not a "medical" in the true sense of the word, more a Q & A session.
Further information on what to expect can be read from Page 70 of our : Employment and Support Allowance claims on physical health grounds
Which is available from the 3rd link down this page :
ESA Claims Guides
Or Page 72 onwards of our : Employment and Support Allowance claims for Mental Health and Learning Difficulties
4th link down the same page.
The "medical" is also discussed in the WCA Handbook section 3. The Medical Assessment.
The WCA Handbook also details the procedures for a Home medical in section 3.12 Domiciliary visits.
You can find the WCA Handbook 2nd link under the heading : "DWP ESA Resources"
Just over half way down the same page linked above : ESA Claims Guides
Yes, it is fine for you to accompany him, and you should explain his limitations to the Assessor before the assessment begins.
Has your son received an ESA50 Questionnaire to fill in and return in recent times or at any time since the time of her last SG Award ?
We are hearing from some members where they are not receiving ESA50's prior to a "medical" when normally they would, and are trying to collate information regarding this.
You can see what an ESA50 looks like by downloading one from the link of this FAQ :
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire
