PIP appeal process was created by bassettsfarm
Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend.

My request for an MC for my PIP decision has been sent off and should have been received by them by now, well within the time limit.

I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it might take from now to get a new decision letter? My initial claim was made in July 2014, and I didn't see the Assessor until February 2015, so I'm now worrying that this is going to take as long again! I hate moaning and certainly don't want to play on any illness, but the stress caused by these lengthy processes is horrendous and makes me (and others, I'm sure) so much more poorly. Thank you.

Hi A,

I hope you had a good Easter break too ! :)

I gather that you mean MR (Mandatory Reconsideration) rather than "MC" ! :)

Unfortunately, there is no stipulated time limit on how long the DWP should take to carry out an MR.

We have heard from members where they have received The MR Notice with the decision quite quickly, and from others where it has taken months.

An average would probably be 4-8 weeks.

You can ring up for an update :

PIP helpline :

Telephone: 0345 850 3322

Textphone: 0345 601 6677

Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

Please let us know when you hear ! :)

Thank you bro58.

Sorry, yes I definitely meant MR, not MC ... I'm such a drip!

Thank you for that and I'll certainly keep you posted. I could handle it if they said it's going to take X amount of weeks or months, it's the not knowing that makes it all such a huge issue.
