It's not that unusual. all the DWP do is register that the form has been returned and forward it to the relevant Assessment Provider, their initial scrutiny is to decide is to decide whether an assessment is required. There are only three outcomes; a face to face is required, it is not, or they need more information, in the case of the former, this will not take more than a day and probably much less.
