Hi,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

If your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity.

This can be done quite easily by following the instructions on this FAQ :

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

If you are referring to our DLA Claims/Renewals/ Reporting a C of C Guides, you can find them on the page below under the heading "DLA Changes and Renewals" :

DLA Guides

Before you progress with reporting a C of C to DLA, you should be aware that if you live in an Active PIP Postcode Area and report a C of C, you will be reviewed under PIP criteria rather than DLA.

You can check if you live in an Active PIP Area : Here.

If after checking the above, you have any further questions or you are still unsure, please let us know by replying to this post.

It's not really possible to offer advice based on the information you have posed, the fact that you have been re-assessed last year, should mean that your current award is safe, whether you qualify for a higher one will depend on your current problems.

Higher Rate Mobility is awarded because the claimant has problems with walking, whereas the Lower rate is because they have difficulties going out.

Lower rate Care can be awarded because the claimant has problems preparing a meal or because they have some care needs, the Medium rate will only be awarded because the have substantial care needs during the day or night.

Hi to you
I'm sorry to hear about your challenge
Do you have some help from your GP, or do you have an O.T at all?
Just that i was refused DLA 5 times. so i went to court, and won, the med rate of care, and med rate of care.
I then go worse and my care manager got a DLA form for me, and filled it out, and sent it off for me.
I was then given high rate of care and hogh rate of mobility, for life, (even though that dosen't stand now with the new PLP) When I'm set for a reveiw i will as some of the professionals to come with me, for support.
It shouldn't matter that you have tried to change your circamstances, and i can't see you losing your benefit, i would if i where you get some profesionals involved to help you.
I used to fill in all the forms myself, but not anymore, i get someone from one of the people that i know to come out and fill them in woth me, they then take them away, and post them back for me.
Get some professional advice of you have any of the following.
Hope you get on well, do let us know what happens... :)
Regards to you
Debbi:)))
