ESA & Contribution pension at age 55 was created by Bill1961
Hello,

Please could you advise what the DWP would do this time next year if I am still on ESA CB could they force me to withdraw my personal pension? or do I have the option to withdraw for example a lump sum ( to say pay off my mortgage or if I take as a annuity then would the sum be deducted from my ESA remuneration?)

Thank you

We cannot give detailed financial advice on the forum, so you would need to get face to face advice from a trained advisor in regard to any options of taking lump sums, etc. from your pension.

If you do no not access the pension at 55 then it should have no effect on your ESA, this will only be a factor when you reach the age when you can claim Pension Credit which is your State Retirement date or the date that a woman born on the same day would reach SRA.
