Called by DWP after medical

I had my medical six weeks ago and the other day someone from DWP called and said that I had been awarded 0 points and how did I feel about this?
I made it know I was not happy, that I didn't think my assessment was fair - ten mins long and the assessor seemed to know very little about what my problems where. DWP offered to let me have a few more days to submit more documents to support my case.
The way the DWP person was asking how I felt the medical went made me think that they had some doubts about how this was carried out. Or, is this common practice to call and ask people?

Hi k,
We are aware that PIP Decision Makers were telephoning PIP claimants where the claimant had not been given a PIP Award.
However, it was reported that they had stopped doing this.
I would take no notice of their comments.
If you wish to challenge the 0 points, you have one month from the date of the PIP Decision Notice letter to make a written request for a Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR)
Sending Documents to the DWP.

There was no mention of a Mandatory Reconsideration and I've received nothing in writing yet. It was more like she was doing me a favour and allowing me an extra few days to send some more evidence in. I got the impression that she thought the 0 points wasn't right and wanted to be convinced otherwise.

Hi k,
Yes, the DM sometimes contacts the claimant where they are considering a fit for work decision to see whether the claimant can provide any further evidence to persuade them to change their mind.
You should receive an ESA Decision Notice letter confirming their decision.
Once you have this, if you want to challenge the decision you have one month from the date of the letter to make a written request for an MR.
You can disregard the "PIP MR/Appeals Guidance." link in my previous post.
Instead you should refer to our ESA MR/Appeals Guidance, and our : ESA Claims Guides 3rd and 4th links down the page.
