"Health Professional" query ? was created by MAGGIE
Hello...I haven't posted for a long time as I'm still waiting for a tribunal date which will be at the 12 week point around the 12th of May,they've acknowledged everything extra that I've sent to them (GP's letter/Haematologist's letter neither of which they had when I had the face to face as Capita did not obtain any medical reports whatsoever which is what DWP informed me during a phonecall))so it's just a matter of time now but this post is in response to the e-mail newsletter I received yesterday...I had a face to face assessment 5/12/14 in a Capita building in Swansea with a "health professional" and I've checked his report which I'd previously requested as part of the process of appeal and it does not state what his job title is just his name....so just a few questions....Should it have stated it ?.....you mention in the e-mail that you'd like to know and that Capita should be informed...so do I ring them to point it out and are they obligated to tell me ?....and will the omission add any weight to my appeal ?....Thank you.

Capita argue that, whatever someone's background, having been 'trained' by Capita they are now all 'Health Professionals' and this designation is all that is required.

If a claimant's f2f interview was carried out by someone without any training in their field of health, one would hope this would be in the claimant's favour if it came to appeal.

Thanks for letting us know, I think the suggestion to let Capita know about it is in regard to assessment happening from now on.

PIP Decisions appear to be taking 2-5 weeks on average.

The only value it would have to your appeal, would be if it was reasonable to assume that the person would have little or no knowledge of your conditions AND this has clearly resulted in a report that has failed to take into account limitations that you would be reasonably expected to have. For example; you were assessed by a physiotherapist and had reported the your problems were all related to mental health and they only reported on your physical capabilities.
