PIP F2F Assessments By DWP Staff? was created by cats6
Based on this post #133619.
I wanted to ask are PIP F2F assessors allowed to be DWP Staff.
End of March Or start of April 2015,
My Cousin {the one with cancer} was sent to Cardiff for the PIP F2F and was assessed by a woman who introduced herself as a DWP official.
I will double check but this was told to me...
And the letter was ambiguous, making out as he read it, he was being asked to attend to confirm who he was. similar to a compliance letter.

Hi c6,
No they cannot be normal "DWP Staff" they must either work for ATOS or Capita, as it is they who provide all Medical Services for the DWP with regards to assessing a claimant for a potential PIP Award.
I suppose, very broadly speaking they could be classed as a "DWP official" as ATOS/Capita are contracted by The DWP to carry out "Medical Services".
Even DWP PIP DM's (Case Managers) are not medical trained, and all ATOS/Capita Assessors must be approved by The Secretary of State for Works and Pensions to carry out assessments.

Yes i thought so.
Is all one big stitch up "mainly"
<< don't want anyone being sued.
Person intorduced their self as a DWP official.
And the mobilty parts he failed on ..these words were said to him at this medical,
Why cant he bend futher forward he should be able to as its been well over 6 months kidney was removed.
And if he broke down on a motorway it would be doubtful he would need assistence, because someone would be with him to sort it all out, and if he was alone in the car then there are traffic cameras which would see him and help would be sent out and if he was needing more help an ambulance would attend him.
I personally wouldnt have allowed such a statment to go unquestioned
but when firghten & feeling valunrable who knows, each to their own
