Should I be expecting a PIP form anytime soon?

I was wondering if anyone has any information for me. I got my DLA renewal form to fill in at the beginning of January (2015), about 6 months before my previous award was due to end. The reason given was the possibility of delays in processing. Following a lengthy period of worry and panic attacks, I finally started looking through your website for help. A close friend also persuaded me to make an appointment with "Hull Advice". Between yours and the lady advisors help, a good case was put forward, and I am very grateful to you all. This was on Monday 27th April. I posted the form the following day with letters of support and character piece from my closest friend. To my complete surprise, I received a letter on Saturday 2nd May (four days later) informing me of full indefinite award for both mobility and care. This is where my great worry comes in. I have been told by another friend that they have only done this because I will shortly be getting a PIP form to complete. If this is true, I feel very cynical about the full DLA award being given to me within four days. I am worried sick that I will have to go through the whole process again very soon, and am aware that PIP is just a dreadful cost cutting exercise. I would like to get a "Mobility" vehicle to replace my ageing car, but feel it will be pointless if I have to apply for PIP. I really don't know what to do. I am terrified of the next large brown envelope dropping on the mat.

Hi hb,

Congratulations on the Indefinite DLA Renewal, and thanks for the positive feedback regarding B&W ! :)

The DWP have stated that all DLA recipients with Indefinite awards will be invited to claim PIP "sometime after October 2015" running until October 2017.

That is the actual wording, which is pretty vague.

I would not expect you to be invited to claim PIP for at least a year.

Of course, we may be better informed regarding transfers to PIP after the Election.

You might want to contact Motability to discuss your options as they are very helpful.
