ESA and PIP was created by paula
Hi
Can I just ask, I am at the moment getting basic rate ESA, I have had a medical with PIP recently and got awarded the enhanced rate of both components, I got the medical at home due to agoraphobia. I am due a medical from ESA within the next week they are coming to my home as well. After looking through your fantastic guides I noticed that some of the answers you say cross over with PIP and that they can look at your PIP award depending on the answers given and change the award. If this is true could I come of ESA and not have a medical and just keep PIP. Hope you can help me with this. I'm worried about my outcome.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Whilst we have seen a limited number of ESA reports used to help make an PIP Decision we have not seen one used to remove a PIP award or even to cause a re-assessment of a PIP award, in fact the then Minister specifically stated at the introduction of PIP, in the House of Commons, that the DWP would not be doing this.
If you still want to withdraw from your ESA claim, then you can do so at any time with no fault, but you would obviously lose the chance to receive upwards of a £100 per week in benefits, so this is not something that you should do without considerable thought.
