pip and epilepsy was created by karren
i have had the pleasure of filling in a pip form for my daughter for severe eilepsy in great detail got a reply begining of april standard rate for daily living but nothing for mobilty when under dla she had middle rate i was very disapointed only getting 4 points for planned journeys the asessment was done on my daughter on her daily life for that day not post epilectic i wrote a long letter asking for the other points a d discriptors to be looked at again and the mobilty section it has now come back with no care needs so we have nothing .they took points of as they said she can use a microwave i know they cant say this as a microwave is a piece of equipent as a toaster and she will have the same dangers in using any equipment in the kitchen .also said she can use a shower as she can not drown in the bath if uses a shower they made a assumtion we have a shower when i said we dont .she would still need supervision in shower or bath after a seizure .all the other point and questions were all takin on the day and how she was on the day .im just so angry her condition seems to be one of them they are not recongnising i sent in reports and advice from action for epilepsy on how to approach the assessment im fumin for her and myself after hours of reserach i am appealing to tribunal any other advice from anybody and has anybody with epilepsy been treated in such a way also the hp who did the medical didnt know what nocturnal or generalised seizures were or tonic clonic episodes we had to explain .
