Hello

I just realised yesterday that I missed the deadline for me to send in my annual occupational pension update from my employer to the dwp.

I in the ESA support group and I have an occupational pension from my ex-employer.
I posted on this forum on 3rd April, as my employer was delayed in sending out the letter, but a problem has arisen since.

The DWP wanted my annual pension figures by the deadline of 17th April at the latest, and although my ex-employer did send me their annual pension letter well within this DWP deadline, due to some personal stress, I forgot all about it until yesterday (sunday 1oth May)-just over three weeks after the DWP's deadline, and now a P60u document has arrived at my house which is dated 25th April 2015, and this has £0.00 amount of pay and £4644.00 pay and taxable benefit, so it has the wrong figures on it also.

This is a previous post I made on here

I can send the pension statement to the DWP today, but I am worried that this whole thing will be treated as a change of circumstances, and, I know that, normally, changes of circumstances can trigger off reassessments for work capability assessments and I am very worried that my delay in notifying the DWP of my annual pension amount increase will trigger off a reassessment of my ESA.

My WCA reassessment is due now anway, and I know that changes of circumstances are pulled out by the DWP computer for reassessment, and I am scared that when I send my pension letter in it will genreate a reassessment.
I got that freaked out yesterday when I realised, that I had to get NHS treatment out of hours.
Bottom line, will this be classed as change of circumstances and trigger a reassessment or am i just worrying too much, thanks.

Hi C,

I really wouldn't get too stressed regarding this. ! :)

It sounds like the P60 that you have is simply the amount of taxable income from your ESA.

Send the pension details off to The DWP ASAP.

Sending Documents to the DWP.

It is no less likely to trigger a reassessment than it would of if you sent it by the deadline date.

If you wish, you can put a simple note in apologising for your tardiness in returning it.

Only a Change of Circumstances involving your medical conditions and resulting limitations would result in a reassessment of your ESA "grouping" !!

Informing them of an annual increase to your pension is part of a "financial" reassessment.

Even if your late return has resulted in a small overpayment, they will simply deduct it from your ESA payments.

The longer you leave it, the more that any potential overpayment will increase.

It should NOT trigger a reassessment of which ESA group that you are in.

Hi Bro

Phew! what a relief, thanks a million for your reassuring reply.
The things we get ourselves in a state over eh!
Years ago, as a self harmer who had to stop work due to mental issues, there would be no questions asked, with regards to my fitness for work, but, gone are the days of sanity, and here are the days of paranoid, cynical hard-nosed business and anything is possible in this irrational money-obsessed culture.
