ESA reassessment

I was placed in Support Group of ESA in April 2013 and my ESA85 recommended that I be reviewed in 18 months. Obviously the 18 months has passed and I want to be prepared for reassessment which due to backlog could happen at any time. If I call DWP will they give a specific date for reassessment or will they refer to the 18 month period as an approximate date?

Hi dr,

As your recommended date for reassessment seems to have been October 2014, it may have been deferred.

This being the case, when you ring ESA, the date that they should have on-screen for your reassessment should be the new date as a result of the deferral.

Hi dr,

As the deferrals were not part of any change to legislation, but simply changes to "Operational Procedures" things will change without any prior notice being given.

This will happen as and when DWP and Maximus deal with the backlog, and there could be regional variations.

If you find out that your reassessment has been deferred to a future date, it is "likely", but not definite that you should not be reassessed until that date.
