Hi,im new here,
I suffer with depression and anxiety,on medication.
Also plantar fasciitis that i have had cortisone injections for.
I cannot go out alone and would prefer not to go out as it causes me so much distress.when i have app i self medicate with out prescription valium.its how i cope.
I had a pip ass last week and had a reply already.i have been awarded lower rate and 8 points.
The lady at the ass did not ask me questions about going out,
About my depression or anxiety or panic attacks.
About bills or other mental health question.
I cannot walk far due to the extreme pain in my feet.
I got 4 points for mobility.
So the question im asking is should i request a mandatory decision
If i do can my lower rate decision be taken away and the back pay i received..
thanks bella1

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Would you mind not posting in upper case, it causes problems for members using text to speech software. :)

Before you think of challenging your current award you need to look at two things; how secure is your current award and how likely are you to score the extra points that you would need for the award that you believe you should have received.

Although the risks are low, we do have members that have had their award reduced or even removed when requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration. As you only scored 8 points for Daily Living, your award is probably at more risk than if you had scored more. Also, you should have a look at the areas where you did score points for, if it was only for one Descriptor then you may be at more risk than if it was more than one.

Secondly, you need to look at where you might score the points for an increased award. You indicate that you have problems with both Going Out and Moving Around, so it should in principle be more easy to score points than if you only had problems in one area.

I would recommend that you have a look at our PIP Claim guide for a detailed explanation of the criteria that you will need to meet and should you want to go ahead with the MR, our PIP Appeal guide that explains the process in detail and has template letters that you can use to make the request. Both guides are on the following link.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
