PIP was created by Jan
Hi yesterday I bit the bullet and telephoned DWP on my change of condition.id rather do it when I was feeling brave. Soon as I made the call it hit me how I could potentially lose my DLA but I needed to doi it so I could get some help financial for care. Has anyone else done this? They said they would write to me after 14 days giving me the second part of the PIP form to fill in! They also asked if they could contact my doctor and consultant I said yes otherwise I was told it could go against my claim. I then contacted my GP and Consultant to make them aware of having a call from the DWP. I've downloaded the diaries and your notes. They also asked if I would be filling them in, I said no my husband would as I'm not able. I appealed against my ESA assessment and won but it was a year of stress It made me feel useless and I lost my confidence. I've heard and witnessed assessments in people's home which are then full of Inacrenies. Is there anything else I should prepare myself for? Can anyone else give me any ideas what I should enclose with my claim other than them being completed? Thanks Jan

Hi Jan,

I hope you will find our PIP guides helpful.

PIP help for claimants

Just to warn you - despite asking for details of your doctors, DWP rarely ask them for a report so you should supply all evidence you have rather than expecting DWP to get it themselves"

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
