I would be grateful for your advice.

I am on ESA support group and was on DLA (middle and lower band). I have had an assessment with ATOS and was told I wasn't entitles to PIP. I have gone through a Mandatory Reconsideration and that too has not been successful.

I have a Welfare Rights officer who is helping me with my case and he is going to come to the appeal with me.

At one point I was on ESA (WRAG) group and after appeal my MP intervened and I was moved into the Support Group. Can I ask, is it possible or has there even been a case where PIP Mandatory Reconsideration have been refused and an MP has then stepped in and the ruling has been overturned. What I am saying is that even though the mandatory reconsideration has failed is it worth me speaking to my MP to see if he can get this ruling overturned or do you think I should just wait for the appeal and see what happens. I want to know I am doing all the right things that can help.

Thanks for taking time to read my query.

Hi Andrew,

On the whole I would expect MPs to get involved with speeding up the process rather than overturning decisions. However, everything is worth trying!

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
