Support Group Letter was created by daisy37
My son is in the Support Group. The letter sent informing of this said:-

"You have been placed in the support group because your illness or disability restricts the possibility of working."

I have read on the internet that some peoples letter says:-

"You have been placed in the Support Group. You meet the eligibility criteria for Support Group. "

Is there a difference between the two reasons and if so what would that be?

I think it has been too long to request a ESA85A and wondered if the difference meant anything?

DWP letters are rarely informative, so I would be cautious of reading too much into the fact that it appears to be worded differently.

To be placed in to the Support Group you need to meet one or more of the SG Descriptors, this is the same for everyone.

You don't say when you were placed in the SG, but there is no time limit to request the ESA85A, just call the DWP office that deals with your claim and ask for a copy, we recommend following up the request in writing.
