just got envelope/new claim

Hi

I've just got the dreaded brown envelope. Been on hold for 65 minutes, unable to speak to anyone to start PIP claim, and, as it's now 6pm, I imagine the phone will go dead. Very stressful. Is there a best time to call?

I have heard that it is often easier to get through first thing in the morning.

I got through within a few minutes calling at 8:15am, but it was very stressful. They ask many more things than the letter implies, and I was entirely thrown by her saying that, alongside them sending the forms for me to apply for PIP, someone may contact me during the next 2 weeks for more information to support my claim ... my health issues are very complicated and traumatic, physically and mentally, and I had to say to her that talking about it all would be too much, but that I can manage the forms. Nothing gets through though, and I am going to read the great guides here over the next few days, when I've recovered more ... just feel that they do not take trauma at all into account, as well as explaining things yet missing out information or being contradictory, even after trauma is referenced. A nightmare, which has made me iller today. Thank you very much this site is here. When she asked if I had anybody helping me, I'd referenced here, which she noted.

I recommend the members guide from this site on filling out the forms. It's long and can be a bit daunting, but I think it really helped me fill out my PIP forms.
