PIP application was created by Tongey
Looking at the application for PIP it asks if you are able to be mobile, aided or un-aided for a distance.
My wife is in constant pain when she is walking anywhere, her condition makes it impossible to use a stick or crutches but she fights to walk between 20 and 50 metres at a time.
There appears no recognition of the fact that she is in pain from her first step?

Unfortunately the PIP mobility criteria have changed from the DLA criteria.

No points as such will be awarded for 'fighting' to walk more than 20 metres, it will just be a ticked box saying she walked more than 20 metres either aided or unaided.

Please see our full guide for advice on how to fill in the form correctly and supply supporting evidence.
Please read page 17 of the guide for advice on carrying out activities in a reliable manner. This may well apply to your wife being able to walk 20 metres.
